Formed between two places.

Decker Pottery is an American ceramic practice taking shape in Đồng Nai, Vietnam—a region with a deep and distinctive ceramic history.

The studio develops original forms on the wheel and through hand building. Selected handmade forms become masters for plaster molds, allowing closely managed small runs while each kiln-developed surface still resolves differently from firing to firing.

How the work develops

Made by hand. Transformed by fire.

Every form begins directly in clay. The hand can guide the silhouette, but the kiln always gets a vote.

Make

Original forms begin on the wheel or are built by hand, establishing proportion, balance, and the marks of the making process.

Refine

Profiles, feet, joins, and surfaces are altered and refined by hand until the original form holds together from every angle.

Mold

Selected handmade originals become masters for plaster molds, preserving their character across closely managed small runs.

Glaze & fire

Bases are weighed from a thirty-material library, screened, recorded, and compared on upright line-blend tiles before a glaze reaches a piece. Firings may develop quiet depth, earthy texture, crackle, oil spot, hare’s-fur, aventurine sparkle, or crystalline growth.

When can I purchase Collection 001?

The collection is in development. Join the first-release list and the studio will send finished-piece photographs, dimensions, availability, and final pricing before the public release.

Will the finished piece match the preview exactly?

The preview images establish the form and surface direction. Ceramic firing creates natural variation, so every final listing will show the exact piece being offered.

How does international shipping work?

Shipping is quoted for the destination and piece before payment. Packing, transit timing, tracking, and any destination charges are confirmed directly with the buyer.

Can the studio develop a custom form?

Yes. Send the intended scale, function, quantity, and general surface direction to begin a commission conversation.

What is included in the snowflake-crackle dinnerware service?

Each place setting includes a 10.75-inch dinner plate, an 8.25-inch side plate, and a 6.5-inch bowl, all lifted on raised foot rings. Services for 4, 8, or 12 are planned in six glaze colors. Final sale follows fit, durability, food-contact, and care testing.
